This test determines the insulation resistance of a finished wire sample. Insulation resistance is of interest in high impedance circuits and as an insulation process quality control test. When used as part of a wire/cable environmental testing, prolonged thermal exposure, and/or extended high voltage testing, changes in the insulation resistance can be used as an indicator of insulation deterioration.

The pass/fail criteria for the test is based on the particular product specification

Our Process

1

Hengfeng are exported all over the world and different industries with quality first. Our belief is to provide our customers with more and better high value-added products. Let's create a better future together.

Perform visual examination of the specimen and record any defects.

2

Strip the ends of the specimen and submerge the sample in a saline solution with the ends above the fluid line.

3

Allow specimen to soak for the specified duration.

4

Attach specimen to test circuit.

5

Apply DC voltage and slowly raise to target voltage. Allow system to dwell at the specified voltage for the specified duration.

6

Measure the leakage current. Remove voltage from the specimen.

7

Report the sample length, leakage current, applied voltage, and insulation resistance per ft.
